Memories. . .

Before the Matron fully realized her third person voice, she posted for NEARLY ONE YEAR before anybody noticed.

Thank you, 200 + daily readers.

Here's a taste of what happened before anyone knew.

****************

I'm in the black hole that masquerades as Scarlett's bedroom, clawing my way through with a plastic garbage bag and vacuum (never look under the bed). Merrick and his friend Lachlan, and Lachlan's three year old sister are playing in Merrick's bedroom, right next door. Merrick and Lachlan have been wearing quite authentic looking police hats for the past three hours; they carry a vast arsenal of weaponry.

Lachlan: "Hey, that's my flashlight - I left it here and now it's broken!"

Merrick: "Stryker broke it. Sorry."

Lachlan: "Let's shoot him."

Merrick (with genuine regret): "We can't. Because he's not home right now."

Lovely. He's a bona fide American, ruled by the clock rather than a moral compass.

*********

See? She was sharp as a whip (or, a good observer) right from the start.

So - do you think it was the third person that finally got you the readers you so well deserve?

Well, all this time and I didn't know you call Scarlett's room the black hole. I call Laura's room the same. When something goes in, that's the last we see of it. So far that doesn't hold true for people. So far.

Well, I'm glad I found you--even if I did miss an entire year.

I will be switching to third person narration on my blog now. Hope you don't mind! ;)

Of course, you were riveting before third person narration, but I HAVE heard of little known blogs skyrocketing to instant fame after reinventing themselves. Hmmm . . .

That is the classic humor we've come to expect from your family.

I would go to third person, but if i did it, it would look presumptious.

When I babysatt Merrick, Lachlan, and Flannery in 2008 and 2009, the things the boys did were unbelievable. I can totally imagine that scene! One day, Merrick and Lachlan asked me if they could take apart the lawn mower...
