He wants to change his name to: Stryker.
No last name. No middle name. Just Stryker.
Stryker: "Like God and Oprah, Mom. Wouldn't it be amazing?"
The kicker is that she has no real good reason why not, except: "Because I say so." She sort of feels like this is practice for the first request for a tattoo?
Stryker. God. Oprah.
Hmmm. . .. it does have a steady beat, doesn't it?

You have to admit it, Stryker is a strong name. He has a point.
And you know, you do do that "Buddah, Oprah," etc list in your blog. Perhaps you should add Stryker to your list too?
Well, Stryker is a very cool name.
If anyone's kids can pull it off, yours can. Of course, you could tell him it will save YOU a lot of hassle until he's "of age." He might want a new name by then.
don't forget Cher.
I agree about the "of age" thing, but I also really like the idea.
And I would go with him to get his tattoo.
There's Prince, too - a good Minnesota one-namer. Stryker is far cooler.
Did you say that Stryker was named for a street? Would you remind us of the story behind that?
Definitely a wait-until-you're-18 thing...
It's a striking name (no pun intended)...
Yep, when he is 18 he can do as he pleases, assuming he is self-supporting. Awesome concept, though.
Also: Prince, Cher, Madonna.
My good friend's last name is Stryker, and we always just call him Stryker. But um, I think you could just call your Stryker, well, Stryker.
You have the most tenacious children.
I just picture some tough dude that fights crime. Totally cool. Unlike me and my obsolete vocabulary.
That is a great stand-alone name. Better than if he was named "Fred" or "Mike."
Madonna. Cher. What's wrong with this picture? All females. Stryker could break the chain!
My daughter told us she wants to change her name tonight. Sigh. It starts already.
