I'm with you, Matron---much as I love snow and the cozy of the house when that white blanket quiets the world and keeps us in, I'm biting my nails today, seeing if tonight's promised 20's will nip the hopeful little leaves on every shrub, tree and bush.
The yard is getting so lovely, with all the green out there, and the old storm arriving right now might blacken and sere everything that's showing.
I'll come stomp your snowpatch into submission, and you come help with the smudgepots.
We have a pile like that, too - in the shadow of the neighbor's garage. I move compost to the garden, feeling springy, and then I see that last lingering pile of snow. Aargh!! Melt, already!

I spent the weekend slathered in sunscreen, but that's just california/minnesota contrast for ya...
Can't you go pour some hot water on it?
I gots one word for ya, Mary, though it is a compound word:
BLOWTORCH.
(though while I was waiting for the picture to load, I read "die, you bastard, die!!" and thought for a second it was going to be a picture of SF.)
My feelings exactly!
It may die - unfortunately, it may rise again.

Our little piles are going to melt-just in time for the new batch Wednesday. I am really done. Really.
