In honor of the millions of Americans who are casting their votes for the first African-American President, here's Marian Anderson, singing at the Lincoln Memorial.
Change? It's been happening all along, friends. Here's to more.
Oh, and can someone help the Matron with her little crying problem? She gets weepy--in that verkempt, overcome, can't-quite-believe it way--just thinking about President Obama.

Mary Alice can't help the Matron, she's been welling up all day herself.
Waiting with baited breath...it's 23.37 here...I'm off to bed...I will look forward to hearing who won it in the morning...surely he HAS to have won?
Sorry, I get teary when I think about it, too. It will happen, won't it? We can't jinx it by too much anticipation, can we?
Pass me a tissue, too, will ya? I think of the African American senior citizens casting their vote and the waterworks start!
CNN had all that swelling orchestral music in the background. Plus, I'm ovulating.
Disaster.
There was teariness here too during Obama's story about the 106 year-old woman in Atlanta.
In addition to the inspiring rhetoric, alcohol was involved. And now I am so tired that I feel like I was the one campaigning in all 50 states.
Oh I was most definitely teary eyed during his acceptance speech.
Too. Cool. For. Words.
His speech tonight must have been a 4-Kleenexer, eh?
Whew. So glad it wasn't just me that was blubbering in front of the TV last night.
I know, it's unreal. I've broken down twice--NEVER do I do that!
Tears all day today. During my drive home, on Air American, Thom Hartman took calls from people in other countries describing what this means to them - one woman from Mexico was having trouble composing herself enough to talk... and I was driving down the highway wiping my eyes.
Wow - that was just beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
It is finally sinking in for me. I can still hardly believe it!
xoxo
Oh, I've been a weepy mess off and on since Tues. morning.
I've been crying, too. If so many of us are crying, it's a great thing. To be thus moved.
