Merrick came tearing into the kitchen, bursting with pride. Pop! Pop!
"Look at what I can do!"
Before the Matron can exhale or encourage, his pants and Batman underwear are on the floor and he hangs a rubber band on his penis, where it stays, wobbling.

Please tell me there was company over, visiting for the first time. (I'm looking for a new sitcom, ala the Matron, now the writers are still on strike.)
My youngest son, who has always been a bit experimental and imaginative, did the same thing when he was pretty small. Only before he could show me, I think the rubber band slipped out of his hand and snapped back at his penis. I still remember the howl of pain he made, poor thing, it was nearly inhuman.
I'm still waiting to see if it means therapy in later years.
Sweet Fancy Moses...THAT'S talent.
Thank god M. hasn't learned that one yet! Then again...I am sick of the helicopter...
And that is quite an accomplishment for a young boy - something to be proud of.
I'm curious as to what your response was!
I don't have boys, but I will share a story from my friend who does.....it seems appropriate here.
Her 3 year old asked his older sister if she will paint his toenails. She does, a pretty silver polish. Her husband comes home and isn't thrilled with the toenails (he's afraid this will make his son gay, you know) and says to him: "What will everyone say when we go to Florida next week - what if they think you are a girl?" Ben smiles and says, "I'll show them my weiner!"
That will show his dad, won't it?? I love the fascination little boys have with that part of their body.......wait a minute, not just 'little' boys, come to think of it, the 'big' boys are just as fascinated, aren't they?
I am giggling still!
