More on the High End Offspring She's Raising

In the van. . .

Stryker: "I want to go to MIT or Harvard."

Matron: "Great!"

Scarlett "I would make a better Helen Keller on Broadway. Plus, I plan to win an Oscar."

Matron: "Great."

Remember, she's also navigating that whole traffic thing. 'Great' is a generous offering.

Merrick: "I don't ever want to be the Pwesident when I gwow up. OW a big business guy. That's way too much wowk. "

Beat

Merrick: " I think I would be a good janitow or gawbage twuck dwiver. Ow maybe I can hold a sign somewhewe."

You go, guy! The Matron is newly fond of manual labor.

He's pretty smart, that youngest. Job security AND low stress!

I often look at people holding signs and think, "Well, at least I've got a better job than they do."

And he'll probably be the most well adjusted!

This reminded me of my son at that age. His goal was to work at PetSmart. My Father would die a thousand deaths every time he said that.

Maybe he'll be the person in the Statue of Liberty costume standing outside Liberty Tax Services. I always wave at the Statue!

Hey, Merrick! When I was 5 years old, I wanted to be a blood donor! Unfortunately, Canadians don't earn money through blood donations! So I became a lawyer instead. You'll go far, buddy!

A job with a big truck sounds pretty good after the conversation I had with my 17yo a few hours ago.
He told me that he wants to go to college somewhere he's never been. No, he doesn't have specifics. However, he has received letters from impressive colleges spread far and wide, due to his good test scores. He might be up there with Stryker.

Merrick is such a riot. He can have great job security holding signs in the Bway audience for Scarlett and cleaning Stryker's offices.
