Hardy But Not Foolhardy

Snow.

Eleven to twenty inches. Anyone outside of the Midwest following the news? Minnesota is set for No Drive White Out Terrible Big Snow conditions.

Snow has started.

The pantry is full: cheese, crackers, fruit, veggies, bagels, chicken, snacks, peanuts-- wine. Driving for two days, canceled.

Eleven to TWENTY inches ahead. Maybe thirty inches in some spots.

Christmas Evening - canceled. Grandma Mary's Christmas day appeareance? Canceled.

Instead?

The Matron is fully prepared for three days at home. She is throwing a HUGE party: Saturday night is the Nearly Spontaneous Blizzard Event for Those Who Can Walk Here.

Let's see what happens. In the interim -- Happy Happy Holidays!!! More soon.

Really -- to the couple hundred who come here everday: Thank you! Hoping for a wonderful holiday for everyone.

Oh, that sounds like so much fun! But I'm confused - do you Minnesotans even consider a 20-inch snowfall an out-of-the-ordinary occurrence?

And to you and yours, Dear Matron---from a wee bit South of your weather, but anticipating quite enough of our own.

What a lovely thought for a party---we spent a Christmas party at our house all in socks, as the guests had had to walk through vast drifts just from the driveways and street.

We raided everybody's thick-socks drawer and got everyone comfy feet as they arrived, setting all the shoes over floor grates and atop the dryer to get them wearable again. We poured the wine, set out the food, and had a memorable evening.

You KNOW I've had lifelong envy of anyone in any proximity to Lake Wobegon. Bon Hiver!!

my word is windshy---think that's a portent?

Send the snow down here. Ice is boring. I grew up in S. California, and for the past 20 years have listened to in-laws talk of the big snowstorms that they had BEFORE I got here (n/w Chicago suburbs.) I WANT SNOW!!!!

My SIL in Moorhead has been keeping me posted.

I think the Lord must be taking pity on poor Detroit in all it's pain. Everywhere around us has been slammed with snow, and we haven't had more than an inch at a time. Merry Christmas.

Sounds like a great time! Just when you think you are saddled with Xmas/family activities, nature saves the day! Enjoy!

Happy Holidays to you and your loving family! We were expecting major snow here as well, but we're getting sleet instead. Frankly, I'd rather have another 16-20 inches.
Hunker down and enjoy, no matter what the weather!
