The Matron just removed today's wickedly funny blog post, which may have been too wicked. Update on this issue later tonight (she's just so SURE she's so important you've noticed).
I saw it. It wasn't wicked at all. Readers don't like the post, they should stop reading. You weren't being mean or revealing any private information. Some people are just looking for a reason to get on their particular soapbox.
i read your blog all the time. never commented before. i work with high school students. biggest excuse for not finishing projects, is unfortunate incarceration. it is still just an excuse.
You'll never make everyone happy. You have chosen to spend part of your life teaching others. I think teachers are heaven-sent (if you believe in that sort of thing) and as one, you are more than entitled to a little levity at your students' expense, specially when you don't reveal any private information and you are not being mean.
I thought the jail post was a good representation of the "it's not my fault" attitude that seems so prevalent these days. I didn't think it was inappropriate; you've been really open about your own background, and you're only telling it how it is =).

I think I may have already read it...
I miss everything.
Darn it! Missed it!
I think I read it. Jail time, right? And I read the comment that may have prompted you to remove it. Probably a good move.

I'm so glad I subscribe in a reader.
It COULD have been not the student's fault....but....odds are not in his/her favour, sadly.
