For those not familiar with the Matron's personal language, Blethic is Blog Ethic or General Care and Tutelage of the Blog.
Today, she is simply reminding her Minnesota and Wisconsin readers of Saturday's 7:00 pm get together!! She'll be there, with reservations for about 15, under her own name.
If you're coming and are inclined, introduce yourself below (this is not a requirement because she knows you are shy).
More details on the event? You can send her an email at petri017 at umn.edu. That's zero one seven.
The pressing issue? Can she talk in the third person for an entire evening -- with cocktails?

I wish I lived in Minnesota.
No, wait. I really don't. I wish the Matron lived in Michigan.
See - the alliteration still works!
I'm laughing picturing the 3rd person conversations.
Will you take a shoe picture? The b*tches in San Diego are trying to spread the tradition. I'll be sure to start working "blethic" into conversation!
Have fun.
Hope you have a grand time.
Looking forward to being at the festivities! And I am game for talking in the 3rd person. Why not? I bet Standing Still can do it with an English accent as well.
Y'all have fun now!
Did I screw up and not RSVP??? You know I'll be there, right?
Can't wait!
Does anyone have an extra bed or couch for us cheeseheads that can't hold our liquor? Not that I can't, just asking:)
Wish I lived closer! Have fun!
I have never wanted to be in Minnesota in December before.
I'll be there with my friend/blogger Riley. Hey fellow cheeseheads - we could meet up in Hudson and ride in together...save on parking? Email me at talk2balou[at]gmail[dot]com if you'd like. Hope the weather holds out on us. Looking forward to this!
Now THAT I would love to hear. 3rd person steady through cocktails...
The third person Hen wishes that she lived in Wisconsin, for then she would know Green Girl and could attend the Matrons functions!
Larue, the Hen does a genuinely English accent!
Have a fabulouso evening,
With love Hen
I cannot tell you how much I wish I could be there, rather than at my SILs bday party.....but duty calls...
I wish oh I wish I could be there. Darn kids. Darn husband. Darn 5 hour drive.
I'll be the one who looks like it's been a long week with an opinionated teenager. Nuff said.
Ouch Green Girl. That's quite a drive! Sozzled -- ah, family calls. I get it. . we'll take pictures and share the spirit!
I have talked sozzled into joining us. I will be her driver, and LaRue will be my driver if Monsieur Merlot calls his siren song too loudly. lol.
I am sorry I cannot be there. After writing my blog post today I realized that deep down inside, it was the experience described there that destroyed my confidence in doing anything but sitting safely at home today. You all have a great time -- next time, I WILL be there.
