Today, the Matron took her children to Ax Man, a surplus store full of oddity and hardware. Merrick fell in LOVE. Must have. Dirt cheap. Has worn constantly -- this:
A gas mask.
And tonight? Merrick has informed the family that he will be cuddling up with this hardware at bedtime, sorta like a stuffed bunny.

Oy, that is so spooky looking.
It makes sense to me, but then I have boys.
LOVE that! Brilliant! So happy your son found it first:)
Ummmm. Well now. I guess he is being prepared.
Well, now at least one of you is ready for the Rapture.
Some people just buy extra batteries and some canned goods. But I like his way, too.
OH. THE. AX. MAN.
You keep making me want to hop in my car and drive south for a few hours.
I'd have to bring along my lad, of course, as he needs to play with Merrick--and get his own gas mask.
Fun! I wish we had a store like that.
Huh. I can honestly say I've never heard that before!
you know, you never fail to surprise me.
hee hee
Funny and a bit disturbing...
(And maybe snuggly?)
Feed him beans for supper. It'll come in handy by bedtime.
Is he trying to tell you something? ;-)
hahahahahah. Can I borrow it for Hallowee? I think it would go well with a pink tutu.
Gotta love a warm fuzzy gas mask!
We are inundated with musket, swords and pistols...Pirate-y stuff. I like that...defensive weaponry is good.

Just wait. He'll start stockpiling canned goods and batteries next week.
The boy's gotta be prepared....
Now, I could use that tonight. In defense against husband O'Toot'O.
I LOVE that. He completely rocks, and so do you.
It'll certainly scare away any bad dreams.
Once while I rummaged around Ax-Man Surplus, an old man pinched my rear end and offered to buy me a cheeseburger at McDonald's. You can find anything at Ax-Man.
We LOVE this store! My youngest, Brenna, could spend days in that place.
We should meet there, let the kids go wild and sneak off to have coffee!!
