The Warm and Fuzzy Child

Today, the Matron took her children to Ax Man, a surplus store full of oddity and hardware. Merrick fell in LOVE. Must have. Dirt cheap. Has worn constantly -- this:

A gas mask.

And tonight? Merrick has informed the family that he will be cuddling up with this hardware at bedtime, sorta like a stuffed bunny.

  5. Some people just buy extra batteries and some canned goods. But I like his way, too.

  6. OH. THE. AX. MAN.

You keep making me want to hop in my car and drive south for a few hours.

I'd have to bring along my lad, of course, as he needs to play with Merrick--and get his own gas mask.

We are inundated with musket, swords and pistols...Pirate-y stuff. I like that...defensive weaponry is good.

  20. Once while I rummaged around Ax-Man Surplus, an old man pinched my rear end and offered to buy me a cheeseburger at McDonald's. You can find anything at Ax-Man.

  21. We LOVE this store! My youngest, Brenna, could spend days in that place.

We should meet there, let the kids go wild and sneak off to have coffee!!
